The coverage of stock in stores and warehouses, as well as the times of replenishment to the shelves, are increasingly critical in order to maintain a quality service to the consumer.
The great variety of products, formats and expiry dates, as well as the different environmental conditions of conservation (“dry”, “fresh” or “frozen”), makes the handling of products in warehouses more complex while logistics facilities are required to be highly versatile and adapted to the work environment.
In this sector LPM has participated in the design of large frozen storage projects, we have contracted and managed distribution centre projects for supermarkets and we have participated in the erection of food distribution centres for logistics operators.
During the management of these projects we have contributed with our experience in project management and sector knowledge. At the same time, we have expanded our expertise in automated picking and depalletizing systems, as well as in order management with fast storage systems. These are the pillars of the solutions that are contemplated for the new semi or fully automated distribution centres for electronic commerce in food, the micro-fulfilment centres that are to come.
